About
Pastural Farming Climate Research Incorporated
OUR PURPOSE
- To promote livestock methane emissions as sustainable and not responsible for global warming.
- To study and comment on research by other organisations that relate to pastoral farming carbon emissions.
- To initiate an academic study to determine the net effect livestock have on the carbon dioxide levels in the atmosphere and whether what ever effect they do have could cause global warming.
- To advocate fairness for agricultural producers under any carbon emission laws or regulations.
Pecuniary gain is not the purpose of the society.

A word from Robin Grieve, founder and Chairman
The purpose of the organisation is to represent farmer’s interests by highlighting the many discrepancies and misinformation surrounding any role livestock play in global warming. The lack of any true scientific evidence, the use of assumptions and theoretical models instead of facts and the reliance on uncertain and questionable information by organisations including the New Zealand Government is in the organisation’s opinion totally unacceptable and dishonest. The organisation intends funding research to provide the facts that are missing from the current debate. This, it is hoped, will result in the role livestock play in global warming proven to be negligible if not zero.
Robin retired from dairy farming in 2007 to a 15 hectare avocado orchard he has owned with his wife since 2000. He has a Diploma in Agriculture from Massey University. As a tutor for Ruraltec in Whangarei Robin teaches students in Ag ITO courses up to production management level. He also tutors for Farmsafe and is an accredited Growsafe trainer.
His interest in the Government’s Emission Trading Scheme has led him to research the topic and he is a regular contributor to rural publications with his opinion pieces on that subject published in New Zealand and Australia.
